Program Name Homeless Shelter Worker Certificate NON OSAP FUNDED
Description Students taking this Certificate will learn about the complexities and challenges of homelessness. Students will learn about the diverse populations in Toronto and across Ontario who are precariously housed, as well as the history of homelessness, and the factors that contribute to homelessness. Students will develop and demonstrate core attributes that are critical to working alongside individuals who are experiencing homelessness. Students will learn key skills to help navigate complex service systems, building on their current skill set in providing support. Students will learn how their support is critical to promoting change in the life of an individual or family experiencing homelessness. The course will also introduce key knowledge areas of support including approaches that explore the complexities that contribute or lead to transitional and/chronic homelessness.

Notes Please Note:
Section 802- is the Non OSAP elligible course and will be on Tuesday evenings for 4 hours/ week for 12 week

Section 803- is the Non OSAP eligible course and will be on Saturday mornings for 4 hours/week for 11 weeks.

Section 804 - is the OSAP eligible course and will be in person Saturday mornings/ afternoons at Ashtonbee Campus for 6 hours/week for 8 weeks.
