Description In this course you will examine the complexities of homelessness and the challenges it creates for an individual or family. Students will learn about the diverse populations in our city who are precariously housed. You will develop and demonstrate core staff attributes that are critical to working alongside individuals who are coping with complex housing challenges in our city. Participants will learn key skills to help navigate complex service systems, building on their current skill set in providing support. You will learn how your support is critical to promoting change in the life of an individual or family in our city.

Notes Who this course is for: Anyone interested learning about or working with people who are experiencing homelessness in Toronto. For those wanting to work in the shelter system it is recommended that they have additional hospitality, community, and/or human services experience or education as it is an asset to future employment.
