Description | In this course, learners will conduct action research for the purpose of improving professional teaching practices. Using appropriate research methods, learners will apply action research principles and ethical standards of research to undertake fieldwork in a postsecondary environment. Recognizing the changing nature of action research, this course provides opportunities for learners to demonstrate flexibility in their research practice in a way that mirrors the fluid nature of the teaching and learning process. Learners will also identify pedagogical linkages between the research process and both their teaching philosophy and practice. Lastly, learners will prepare and present their final report to colleagues and participants by reflecting on their research findings to identify opportunities for further improvement in their pedagogy and teaching methods. |
