Program Name Payroll Compliance Practitioner
Description Learn the payroll compliance responsibilities that affect organizations. Apply payroll legislation to calculate individual pay, calculate and report government and third party remittances, year end requirements and accounting for payroll at the compliance level of the organization. Graduates will be able to communicate this information effectively with all stakeholders.

The National Payroll Institute (NPI) offers the only payroll certifications in Canada.

The National Payroll Institute's PCP designation is the foundation for a successful career in payroll. Designation will help you gain an in-depth understanding of the legislative requirements to keep your organization compliant throughout the annual payroll cycle, and become part of a growing community of highly-engaged professionals.

PCP certification requires three core payroll courses, Introduction to Accounting transfer of credit and one year of weighted related payroll work experience:
1. Payroll Compliance Legislation (PCL)
2. Payroll Fundamentals 1 (PF1)
3. Payroll Fundamentals 2 (PF2)
4. Introduction to Accounting (transfer of credit; offered at post-secondary institutions)
5. PCP Work Experience Requirement Application (WERA) (a minimum of one year work experience in payroll)

For each CPAC course, students must register with the Centennial College and pay the school's registration fee.

They must also register with the National Payroll Institute (NPI) for each CPAC course and pay the Association Registration fee to receive their each course materials and access the learning platform. Additionally, Part-time students also need to pay the NPI's Annual Candidate Membership fee.

Students must register with the NPI five business days before the start date of the course.

Admission Requirements Domestic Students must be 19 years of age or older to get in to this program. No other requirements are necessary.

In order to receive credit from the NPI for completion of the course students need to have an overall course grade of 65%, and at least a 65% on the final exam.
