|Description||This course emphasizes the consolidation of literacy, communication, and critical and creative thinking skills necessary for success in academic and daily life. Students will analyse a variety of informational and graphic texts, as well as literary texts from various countries and cultures, and create oral, written, and media texts in a variety of forms for practical and academic purposes. An important focus will be on using language with precision and clarity and developing greater control in writing. The course is intended to prepare students for college or the workplace.

|Notes||This is an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) level course, designed for learners who need to take or re-take select high school courses in order to seek admission to post-secondary programming. This course is delivered fully online and asynchronously, which mean you can log into your course at any time, day or night that works for your schedule. However, there is a defined start and end date, and a critical path that you must adhere to in order to meet tests and assignments deadlines.
This course is offered in partnership with TVO ILC, which is a government funded academic institution and the designated partner of Ontario Ministry of Education.
