SolidWorks - Weldments
Course Code | PTSW-201 |
Course Name | SolidWorks - Weldments |
Category | Engineering Technology & Applied Science |
Description | The purpose of this advanced weldments CAD course is to provide knowledge on the design of a weldment structure, as a single multibody part. This allows learners to create/modify a complex structure before the final joining process. Students learn necessary skills to utilize Solidworks software tools to generate structural members that involve standard or custom sketched segments. Students will be introduced to creating a weldment profile, placing the weldment profile, basic and advanced weldment part creation, weldment corner modification, end caps, 3D-Sketch creation, Weldment part cutlist, placing gaps at corners, and segment intersections. To pass the course, you must write and achieve a passing grade of 75 per cent or greater on SolidWorks' Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional Advanced Weldments (CSWPA-WD) exam, which is included in the course. Taking the SolidWorks Sheet Metal course does not guarantee that you will pass the exam. The CSWPA-WD certification is a proof of SolidWorks expertise. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) exam from SolidWorks, obtained through Solid-Works Essentials PTSW-100 course at Centennial College, or directly from SolidWorks. |
