Description | Centennial College has developed a graduate level course providing accessible and relevant learning opportunities for students who wish to see how an infection prevention and control (IPAC) department functions in a hospital. Designed to give students supervised practical application to improve assessment, problem solving and decision-making skills in a controlled clinical environment. This comprehensive 200-hour clinical placement covers all main aspects of infection prevention and control including shadowing an Infection Control Professional within an IPAC department. The fee for this course is $2000.00 Objectives: 1. Apply theoretical concepts from the Infection Prevention and Control course (PI-100 or equivalent) to delivery of patient care within the health care setting 2. Improve your problem solving and decision-making skills as related to infection prevention and control 3. Develop your expertise in your leadership role as an IPAC professional that contributes meaningful information 4. Opportunity to develop, implement and share a project during your placement |
Notes | Application: Students must send proof of successful completion of IPAC Canada endorsed Infection Prevention and Control course and include: 1. Top three choices for placement (i.e., names of the hospitals) 2. Number of days per week 3. Ideal start date 4.
