| Description | In this course, you will critically identify and examine issues in diversity. Specifically, you will focus on topics pertaining to inequality in various social settings, including but not limited to: race, gender, ethnicity, class and sexual orientation. Incorporating social/legal explanations of diversity, you will develop a clear understanding of the groups affected and the possible strategies of community empowerment. You will explore the legal status of Aboriginal people along with the Aboriginal rights and self determination; issues relating to land claims, justice and social services. |
