| Description | This course will provide an overview of the, music, culture and history of Indigenous North America from two perspectives: 1) Traditional Music (geography, language, instruments, history) 2) Contemporary Music (recording and performing industries) Students will develop knowledge of and appreciation for a variety of musical and cultural traditions. The course will also explore Indigenous music festivals, issues surrounding preservation, and interactions within the music industry. |
