Description Develop strong investigative reporting, interviewing and writing skills for students in the journalism program. You will acquire the ability to access public records, collect reporting, use computer assisted reporting and conduct interviews for investigative stories. Throughout the program, you will be working on an investigative story of your own choice to be published in a Centennial College magazine.
Notes Prerequisite for the Investigative Reporting course: JO-211/JO-200 (for students currently enrolled in fulltime programs 6412 or 6402); for others, a minimum of two years in a journalism program (which must have included an intensive reporting course and a law and ethics course of some sort) OR a minimum of one year's experience reporting for a media outlet. For the latter situation, a portfoliio review by the teacher would be a requirement.
