Description | Micro-Credential Description Film and television (screen-based content) production is growing at a rapid pace in Ontario, with several new studios coming online in the GTHA as well as other parts of the province. As production increases, there will be increased demand for skilled-workers who are trained to work on set. This is particularly true for roles including grips, gaffers and other supports that are critical for a production's success. This micro-credential is aimed at training this critical work force and positioning them for future success in the growing industry The "Grip and Lighting" micro-credential provides specialized training for those looking to upgrade their skills to work on film and television sets in the department responsible for production equipment, with a focus on equipment related to cameras and lighting. The grip is responsible for the equipment on set - ranging from camera and supporting equipment such as dollies, cranes and other necessary items to working with the electrical department to support production lighting.
