Writing the City: Narratives of the Crowd
Course Code | CWCM-102 |
Course Name | Writing the City: Narratives of the Crowd |
Category | Media, Arts and Design |
Description | How can we find our voice amidst the multitude of city life? What narrative tools can we use to help navigate us through the buzzing intersections and collisions of a modern-day metropolis? How can we locate the language to capture landscapes in constant states of decay, destruction, and renewal? Do cities isolate our inner voices, cutting them off from the outside world, or drive our literary imagination out into the polyphonic rhythms of the streets? This ten-week workshop will use a combination of prompts and reading assignments to explore writing that seeks to capture the frenetic pace, contradictions, chaos, and diversity of city life. Look forward to sharing your work with a published author and a community of supportive peers. |
