| Description | Truck and Coach Technician Pre-Certificate offers an introduction to foundational knowledge of the diagnosis and service of electronically controlled ignition systems. Using the apprenticeship curriculum as a guideline, you will review diesel engines, brakes, suspension and steering, electrical/electronics, fuel systems, gear trains, and workplace practices and procedures. Emphasis is on basic theory and correct use of language and terminology. The instruction, which includes theory, diagnosis, testing, service, repair and hands-on use of test equipment, will prepare you, the uncertified tradesperson, to write the Ontario Truck and Coach Technician Certificate of Qualification exam. Once you complete the Truck and Coach Technician Pre-Certificate course, you will have the ability to: • Define introductory information, procedures construction fundamentals, and troubleshooting steps of internal combustion engines systems, diesel fuel system, gear trains, suspensions and brakes, truck trailer and landing gears, heating ventilation and air conditioning system, and workplace practices. |
