|Description||Assessing Performance Needs teaches you how to assess performance needs in the context of broad training and development issues and trends.
Assessing performance needs is the most complex component of training and development as it involves several competencies such as analytical and conceptual thinking, building partnerships with stakeholders, leadership, organizational awareness and synthesis of disparate facts into a coherent whole. You will explore training and development as a strategic business initiative that include tactical approaches to the performance needs assessment process.
The course consists of lectures, class discussions, case analysis and more. You will be graded based on your performance on three assignments (needs assessment instruments, a needs assessment report and a presentation) as well as a test.
Once you complete the Assessing Performance Needs course, you will be able to:
• Critically assess emerging trends and issues in training and development;
• Plan a performance needs assessment;
• Conduct a performance needs assessment.
