Description | Automotive Service Technician Pre-Certificate benefits uncertified tradespeople who wish to write the Ontario Automotive Service Technician Certificate of Qualification exam. The course consists of a review of the three levels of training for drive trains, as per the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities' curriculum for the trade of auto service technicians. Specific topics include: steering, suspension and brakes, gear trains, engine systems (cooling, lubrication, etc.), electrical, electronics, fuel systems, and workplace practices and procedures. You will encounter a range of methods, from lectures on theory, classroom work, homework, reading assignments, video presentations, Internet assignments, and interactive computer-based assignments and/or quizzes. On completion, you will know the purpose, fundamentals, construction, principles of operation, inspection, testing, diagnosis, and repair procedures of automotive drive train components and assemblies.
