Description | Discuss the dangers of high voltage • Review safe working practices and personal protective equipment • Perform safe high voltage system disabling and re-enabling • Introduction to hybrid/electric vehicle technology • Overview of commonly used OEM vehicle systems and high voltage components • Define and compare hybrid, electric and traditional combustion engine vehicle technology • Explore driver interfaces with operational and charging systems • Discuss range concerns and charging options • Explore main components of hybrid vehicles including low and high power systems • Discuss the blending of power and electrical energy flows in hybrid and electric vehicles • Investigate high voltage safety systems including high voltage interlock (HVIL), isolation resistance, high voltage system charging/discharging (passive and active) and associated diagnostic tools • Analyze battery and transmission technologies used in hybrid and electric vehicles • Review and demonstrate safe high voltage system disabling and re-enabling procedures |
