|Description||The first of two courses, Driving Instructor Training - Part 1 is the initial step in obtaining a driving instructors license in Ontario. To qualify for the license, both course parts must be successfully completed consecutively.
This Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO)-approved training course is made up of a combination of theory and in-vehicle components. It will include first aid and CPR training. The full course, both in-car and in-class, is a minimum 140 hours.
Once you complete your studies, you will have knowledge of:
• Instructor code of conduct;
• Legislation (H.T.A);
• Principles of learning and instruction;
• Lesson planning;
• Rules of the road;
• Vehicle handling.

|Notes||Please note: Applicants must have four or more years of valid driving experience (not classed as novice in Ontario). All candidates must have zero demerit points on their driving abstract before applying to become a driving instructor. Prior to registering for this course, please go to the nearest Driver Examination Centre and obtain a Driving Instructor Kit complying with all requirements.
