| Description | This course is equivalent to ECEP-216 and ECEP 235. Group skills development is emphasized during this experience. Plan and implement programs for a variety of ages and stages consolidating knowledge and skills to facilitate an emergent curriculum. Prerequisite: Foundation Studies Unit, Infant and Toddler Unit, Preschool Unit Additional purchase: Field Practicum Manual available at the college bookstore - please bring manual to your first Seminar class. (All seminar classes are mandatory. It is very important to register early and be prepared with a current Police Reference Check and a medical for the first seminar class) |
| Notes | Notes: 1. This is a planned experience of 25 days (eight hours per day) with one five day block if possible in a Centennial College approved field setting under supervision, plus six hours of seminars. Once registered, please e-mail Lynn Haines at lhaines@centennial college.ca to arrange your placement. All students are required to attend the first Seminar Class for Field Orientation or you will not be able to start your placement this semester (all seminars are mandatory for success). 2. A current Police Reference Check, Medical and First-Aid/CPR Certificate are required for the Practicum. Please obtain before class begins and bring to the first Seminar. 3. If you have successfully completed two practicums (A grade or better with a B+ grade point average) and have at least two years work experience in a licensed child care setting, you may be eligible to register for Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition. Please make an appointment with the Program Supervisor to discuss this. |
