| Description | Revised Material and a New Course Name HRAI, in conjunction with Environment Canada, has rewritten the course materials for the course previously known as CFC/HCFC/HFC Control in the ODP Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Training Program. The Code of Practice. The new course will now be known as "Canada's Ozone Layer Protection Awareness Program" and will still provide the same certification required to purchase and handle refrigerants across Canada, frequently known as ODP (Ozone Depletion Prevention) certification. You will learn the proper handling of harmful refrigerants and how to prevent the release of harmful emissions into the atmosphere, as well as the significance of the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. Specific topics include: recommended standard practices, commercial/industrial systems, residential systems, domestic appliances, mobile systems, recovering, reusing, recycling, and reclaiming techniques, and provincial regulations. Successful completion of this course will give you a meaningful understanding of air conditioning emissions and their effects when improperly handled. Air Conditioning and certification will also provide you with the mandatory provincial certification to handle and purchase refrigerants.
