|Description||You will also gain insight into the design, construction and operation of both automotive cooling and lubrication systems. In regards to cooling systems, you will examine the principles of heat transfer, types of cooling systems, their components and purpose, and coolant. Other topics include spark timing, compression, fuels, pistons and rings, wristpins, sealants, bearings, intake and exhaust systems, and much more.
Once you complete this offering, you will be confident in:
• The details of internal combustion of gasoline, diesel and propane powered engines;
• Understanding the lubrication and cooling systems, their components and purpose;
• Producing camshaft and valve timing to manufacture specifications;
• Identifying crankshaft and piston position for two-stroke cycle engines efficiency;
|Notes||Please note: CSA-approved safety boots and safety glasses will be required for admission to all lab classes. Failure to comply in any lab will result in a temporary dismissal from the class.
