| Description | ***PLEASE NOTE***: THERE IS AN ONLINE THEORY COMPONENT THAT NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED BEFORE YOU ARE ABLE TO ATTEND PRACTICE SESSIONS The online module will be sent to you no later than the Monday prior to your scheduled in-class session via your preferred email address that is on file with the College. You will find Standard First Aid (SFA) beneficial if you are looking for a comprehensive course in basic first aid and CPR/AED. The course, which meets the guidelines established by ILCOR and WSIB for CPR and first aid, covers a wide range of topics, including: • How to respond to emergencies; • CPR BLS level for Health Care Providers • Prevention of disease transmission; • Respiratory and cardiac arrest; • Injuries to the head and spine; • Bone, muscle and joint injuries; • Wound care; • How to deal with sudden medical conditions and environmental emergencies. This Standard First Aid course includes CPR BLS and provides you with a three-year certification in First Aid and a one-year certification for BLS. This session will be delivered in-class, over two days (Saturday and Sunday). |
