| Description | The Canadian Security Association (CANASA) Alarm Technician Course (ATC) provides technicians with everything they need to compete in today's marketplace. Students gain the skills, knowledge, tools, and confidence required to rise above the competition and deliver outstanding service to customers and clients. Technicians will be trained to deliver effective solutions for preventing false alarms and dispatches. ATC covers a wide range of topics and trends relevant to today's alarm technician and current industry requirements, including new technologies such as networking and wireless and extensive false alarm prevention. Designed by top security experts, the course promotes best practices and the highest possible standards in the industry. Course topics include: Controls; Detection (inputs); Notification/communication (outputs); Basic networking; System design; Job planning; Field wiring; Power and grounding; Wireless; Safety; Metering; False alarm management; Commissioning Who should take ATC? Both new and experienced alarm technicians can benefit from taking ATC. Technicians who have learned from on-the-job training can gain essential information they may not have access to on a daily basis and stay up to date on trends and technologies. New technicians will benefit from gaining the comprehensive knowledge they need to get the job done right. The course is recommended for technicians who have installed a minimum of three intrusion alarm systems. Students must also have an understanding of basic electronics and math. This course is not suitable for students who have no experience in installing intrusion alarm systems. |
