Description | This course is in a series concerning Canadian Aboriginal populations. This course introduces students to the challenges faced by Aboriginal peoples today in defining their collective place in Canadian society, as well as the contemporary achievements in building strong and sustainable communities and identities. This course builds on the previous Aboriginal series courses where issues of colonization, partnerships and self-governance were discussed. This course highlights the importance for Aboriginal populations to reclaim and further develop their identities, partnerships and sovereignty in order to achieve their warranted rights.
