Are you interested in challenging current paradigms about best practices in teaching and learning, and defining your role as an educator in an evolving digital landscape? Do you wish to explore hands-on teaching strategies that you can implement right away in your classrooms? If yes, then buckle up and join the Social Media for Education course! Through this fun and collaborative learning experience, you will be pulled outside your comfort zone, drive your own learning, and work interdependently with colleagues to consider new pedagogical approaches, and create learning experiences that will prepare students to thrive in this digital age. Upon the completion of the course, you will be able to: • Define one's role as an educator in an evolving digital landscape; • Apply social media to enrich professional development; • Evaluate the educational affordances and limitations of social media applications and tools; • Use social media tools to create a learning experience to engage students in collaborative learning, self-expression and critical thinking. |
