Hydraulics 3 CERB-506
|Course Name||Hydraulics 3|
|Category||Engineering Technology & Applied Science|
|Description||Hydraulics 3 involves the study of hydraulic motor applications in open and closed loop circuits.
Consisting of labs and lectures as well as a focus on class participation, the course covers a range of topics including an introduction of cartridge and proportional valves. Through hands-on exercises you will be required to perform practical lab operations with these valves, demonstrating their use in modern hydraulic circuits. Calculation and circuit building assignments will also be created using accumulators and motors.
You will also study flow meters, electrohydraulic proportional driver circuits, oil filtration and contamination, sizing and selecting motors for industrial applications, filtration and contamination, and basic closed loop systems.
You will complete the course knowing how to:
• Apply and size hydraulic motors in circuits as required;
• Understand how accumulators are sized and used, and why and where cartridge valves are used;
• Enjoy introductory knowledge of electrohydraulics;
• Understand the importance of fluid conditioning and the ability to assess requirements for hydraulic systems.
