Description | Training on High voltage safety and personal protection is vital for this course because the course covers the energy storage devices. This course will give students an in depth look into the energy storage systems found on Hybrid and Electric bus, this course will discuss Nickel Metal Hydride and Lithium-Ion battery composition and operation principles. Students will also gain knowledge into battery and cells management system; what are been monitored and the importance of battery management. Issues that can increase the potential of a thermal event and strategies to mitigate a thermal event will also be covered along with learning how to power down a battery, and confirming that the battery is off. The course will also cover testing and troubleshoot for battery faults such as loss of isolation. |
