| Description | This course is ideal for the RN and RPN working in Day Surgery units, and hospital post-operative units where the patient will be received once discharged from the PACU (Post Anaesthesia Care Unit). Topics discussed will include assessment of the post-operative patient, anaesthetic agents used during surgery, management of post-operative pain during PACU and then in Phase 11, importance of thermal balance, respiratory management including the importance of deep breathing and coughing exercises as well as the stir-up regime. |
