|Description||Aircraft Sheet Metal Fabrication and Repairs prepares you to carry out aircraft metal forming and riveting using hand and power tools.
You will study the use of hand tools, cutting machines, rivets, bend and forming machines, and precision measuring instruments to general topics such as bend allowance and corrosion protection. You will also receive practical training in techniques for power and hand drilling, dimpling and counter sinking, riveting and rivet removal, and hand forming.
The Aircraft Sheet Metal Fabrication & Repairs course includes tests, a project, and a final exam.
Once you complete this course, you will have the ability to:
• Use hand and power tools to carry out simple metal forming and riveting tasks;
• Read blueprints;
• Perform safety procedures and precautions.

Please note: CSA-approved safety boots and safety glasses will be required for admission to all lab classes. Failure to comply in any lab will result in a temporary dismissal from the class.
You must purchase a steel ruler that is graduated in 16ths, 32nds, and 64ths. Please bring the ruler to the first class.
Must possess basic math skills, i.e. ability to do fractions, decimals and simple equations.
