|Description||Automotive Painter 1 is one of the compulsory courses towards achieving a certificate in Auto Body Mechanic. The course, the first of two parts on automotive painting, focuses on the modern refinishing system of undercoats and topcoats. It is intended for both refinishers and car owners with an interest in refinishing.
Through classroom and hands-on work with primers, paint, and painting techniques, you will learn about primer surfaces, putty, sealer, flexible agent, troubleshooting, types of undercoats and topcoats, overall application and more. You will be encouraged to bring in a project to work on.
Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:
• Recognize and apply different undercoats;
• Repair damaged paint;
• Use a spray paint gun;
• Care for a new finish.
