Program Name Early Childhood Resource Consultant (Special Needs)
Description This is a part-time, post-diploma graduate certificate program for Early Childhood Educators who want to learn the essential skills required to promote the inclusion of children with exceptionalities in the Early Learning and Care Community. Upon successful completion, graduates will qualify as Resource Teachers and/or Resource Consultants under the Child Care and Early Years Act.
Admission Requirements Ontario College Early Childhood Education Diploma, or letter of equivalency from the AECEO. All applicants must be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators

Notes Completion Requirements:

There are seven academic courses and two supervised field practicums. Courses run consecutively, and a minimum C grade must be maintained in each course to continue within the program. Students must successfully complete Level 1 before moving to Level 2. This program has an intake only for new students in the Fall each year.

Please note:
Due to the nature of this program, students must provide a recent Police Reference Check prior to each field placement and required courses. A criminal record or charges pending before the courts in regard to crimes against vulnerable populations may determine eligibility for courses and completion of the program.
